We've been called the dynamic trio. We like to think of ourselves as trailblazers, entrepreneurs, visionaries & pretty cool people.
HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
illFX Entertainment was organically created over a simple conversation. We – Cody Jaxon, Katherine Burrowes and Edgar Reyes were all determined dancers who refused to accept the fact that Calgary wasn’t filled with abundant opportunities to dance professionally. That wasn't going to stop us. We joined together and decided to create our own opportunities. Why did we have to wait for someone else to pave our paths? The nature of a dancer is to always be in motion; therefore it has been our dream to push illFX Entertainment to the company we know today. And we’ve never looked back.
Everything fell into place. We play to our strengths, each of us bringing a unique skill-set to the table. What started as an opportunity to inject our city with more opportunities for dancers, has become so much more. We’ve been able to help our clients grow their businesses, increase charitable awareness, motivate individuals, empower youth and bring joy into people's lives, even for a minute.
We put people and purpose above all else, and focus on our community and our impact. We hope to influence and inspire, which has lead to our illFX Education division; a program we’ve started that will provide a stage for the next generation of urban dance professionals in Calgary.

Katherine Burrowes
Co-Artistic Director/ Operations Manager
Katherine has been a dance professional in the Calgary arts community for over 10 years. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Dance with Distinction from the University of Calgary, and has trained in New York, Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton and London UK. Katherine has performed professionally with Decidedly Jazz Danceworks, Elektra Dance Company, The Calgary Spurs, House of Dangerkat, Groove Academy, Shine Ensemble, and toured China with the production Dragonfly Cafe.
As a choreographer, Katherine has created work for numerous competitions, studios, stage productions such as Fame, Thoroughly Modern Millie and Hairspray, and multiple international touring productions. Katherine is passionate about the development of local artists and the importance of the performing arts in Canada.
Edgar & Cody call me KB or their 'work wife'.
When I'm not dancing, I'm sleeping, or playing with my cat Tomo.
My favourite project to date has to be The 2014 SAM Awards. I loved working with the theme to create a full evening of entertainment.

Edgar Reyes
Co-Artistic Director/Choreographer
Canadian dancer, choreographer and producer Edgar Reyes received his diverse training in Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto, New York and Los Angeles. He has worked with such notable choreographers as Luther Brown, Sabrina Matthews, and Mia Michael’s to name a few, and with musical artists such as Keisha Chante, Eva Avila and Blake McGrath. Edgar was also a Top 10 finalist on Season 3 of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA.
As a member of the professional company of Decidedly Jazz Danceworks, Edgar’s unique style evolved to incorporate the diverse aesthetics of Hip-Hop with the Jazz vernacular. He has channeled his visionary and creative energy into Alberta’s urban dance community, where his love for the art and strive for excellence is carving a new path in the realms of performance and dance instruction.
Cody & Katherine call me a big dreamer! Sometimes I go too big but they keep me grounded and realistic.
When I'm not dancing, I'm usually plotting the next project or event! I'm always working in some way or another but thankfully I LOVE my job.
My favourite project to date has to be The Sam Awards 2015.

Cody can be found crunching numbers while singing every lyric to any Michael Jackson tune.

Cody Jaxon
Business Manager
Born in Calgary, Cody started his training with the Youth Singers of Calgary at the age of 7. He was a member of Decidedly Jazz Danceworks Professional Training Program. Cody co-founded illFX Entertainment with Edgar and Katherine in 2008 and is now the Business Manager. Cody studied at the Haskayne School of Business and has done marketing for such companies as Disney, Microsoft and Rogers Wireless.
Cody has performed with such professional companies as Decidedly Jazz Danceworks, Groove Academy, 49th Parallel Dance Company, Shine Ensemble and Calaway Live and danced for International Platinum recording artist Raghav. Cody has been in the media with Calgary Herald, CTV, CityTV, Global, TSN, and the Calgary Sun. Cody has traveled to Australia, New York, Toronto, Vancouver and Edmonton to continue his training in Urban Dance and continues to teach in schools and studios while sharing his passion and love of dance and performance.

When I'm not dancing, I'm I am traveling the world. I have recently been to Peru, Bahamas, Cuba, New York and Mexico.
My favourite project to date has been performing on National Television for millions of viewers on the CityTV NYE Bash backup dancing for Platinum Recording artist Raghav.
